I was born in Karachi, Pakistan into a loving refugee family with humble beginnings. I have so many fond memories of my childhood, I remember flying kites and chasing them around the streets competing to get to the cut kites first so I could have a free kite to fly. I look back with a smile on my face at the innocence of being a young boy growing up on the streets of Karachi.
My school life began with a fib told by my parents. I was three and half years old, my parents enrolled me as a five year old to get me into school or out of the house... I must have been a handful at home. As the youngest child in the class, I had to compete if I wanted to excel in school, I had to learn fast and learn early to battle against the odds. My passion for success was sown into me from my early school years.
I arrived in Australia as an immature nineteen year old to study textile technology in Geelong, soon after I realized that I was better at business so I moved to Melbourne to study commerce. I worked through the usual student jobs in the factories or as a waiter, desk jobs, and whatever else I could do to gain experience. I had almost nothing to my name, not even five dollars to pay for a hair cut so I grew my hair longer.
I made a lot of mistakes along the way and all mistakes are teachers, I no longer call them mistakes I call them lessons. My journey has been colorful, eventful, full of joy, buckets of despair, losses, gains, successful businesses as well as unsuccessful businesses. I have also learnt from my divorce, parenting of three children, moving countries multiple times, sadness, health issues and, even life threats!! I have managed to overcome these and enjoy my life while embracing my fears and bravery, having a never say never attitude and, trusting my intuition.
My mother used to call me a philosopher as I could articulate well beyond my tender years. I always believed I should share my story and my lessons so I wrote my first book Life is bullshit, do you agree?
This book is a self-help book, it has thirty four chapters of easy reading, inspiring stories and, life-changing truths.
The book will be launched on Amazon on 21/11/21 as it is an auspicious date.
